Quantum Computer Developer Gets Funds
from the big-bets dept
For years, people have been talking about quantum computing, and its possibilities. However, for every breakthrough, there's always some sort of caveat reminding us we're years off from any really useful quantum computing systems - and even then they're likely to only be useful for a few, very specific applications. So, it's a bit of a surprise to find out that a venture capital firm has seed funded a quantum computing company which is unlikely to provide much of a return in the typical VC timeframe. Most quantum computing work is being done in big research labs, backed by money from large corporations that can afford plenty of experimentation before they come out with anything.
