Hilary Rosen Becomes TV Pundit

from the pitching-the-record-industry's-viewpoint dept

Hilary Rosen, who is winding down her job as head of the RIAA has apparently agreed to a new job as an on-air "pundit" for CNBC. It sounds like she'll be discussing plenty of other issues beyond the music business, but I'm sure she'll continue to toe the recording industry line in any discussions about intellectual property issues. So, now instead of trying to influence politicians, she'll be trying to influence the viewing public to support outdated business models. She's a very smart person, and I'm sure she'll be a good on-air personality, but it's funny that she's being so "rewarded" as an expert while helping the entire industry miss the boat on digital music.
