Dell Recycling Nets New Business
from the exploiting-criminals? dept
With all the talk about forcing electronics and computer manufacturers to offer recycling programs (something we've discussed before), Dell was one of the early leaders to offer such a program. They have agreed to come around and pick up your old computers (left on your doorstep) for $15, which they will then take off somewhere and recycle. Of course, those who are against the proposed law requiring such programs might want to look at Dell's success. They're now claiming that the recylcing program may be a profitable venture for them. Of course, that might have something to do with the fact that they're using prison labor to recycle the machines.
