Pentagon Launches Internet Voting Effort For Overseas Americans
from the online-voting-moves-forward dept
While many efforts in the US to push forward electronic voting have been slowed by worries on security and auditing ability, the Department of Defense is moving forward with plans to let overseas military personnel cast absentee ballots online. They claim (of course) that they're doing everything for the sake of security and accountability, but I'm sure some questions are going to be raised about how accurate these numbers are going to be. There was a much smaller-scale test of internet voting for some overseas military personnel in 2000, but this would be a much bigger deal.
