Smaller, Cheaper Hard Drives For Portable Devices
from the smaller,-cheaper,-better dept
As with most technologies, over time, they tend to get better and cheaper. There's been some press coverage today of a startup that claims they're beating the big storage players by quite a bit in terms of price for their new tiny hard drives. The drives are expected to go into MP3 players and various other portable storage devices - driving the prices of those devices down drastically. Of course, I wonder where the breakthrough really is in this technology, and whether or not it can easily be copied by companies like IBM and Toshiba who currently have a large portion of the "microdrive" market.

Re: Port-a-Pedo
To the best of my knowledge, none of us are pedophiles.
I'm tempted to put it on my keychain and hope some cop stops me and asks to view the contents of my USB drive. I could really use the money I would receive when I sue the police for violation of my fourth (or is it fifth?) ammendment rights to protection vs. illegal search and seizures.
