Catching Criminals Before They Act
from the spying-on-you dept
With all the talk about surveillance cameras being everywhere these days, a new company has come up with more sophisticated surveillance camera software that is designed to notice if you do something questionable - and quickly alert people about it. In other words, if you go into a public restroom with a package, but leave with out it - the system will alert security. Of course, this brings up plenty of issues about being innocent until proven guilty. Should you be stopped for questioning just because this software notices you did something different?

So, this guy...
On the other hand, I'm sure security camera vendors will use this as an excuse to sell more cameras. After all you need overlapping cameras to insure that a bomb isn't left *under* the surveilance camera.
