Where Are All The New Video Games?

As E3 gets underway, there's apparently a real sense of deja vu. It seems like every company there is touting sequels, rather than any new, or particularly innovative game. Video game companies aren't taking many chances, but are coming out with updates on old favorites, realizing that these sequels involve less development and less marketing costs.
