Digital Maps Tell The Time
from the how-long-to-get-from-here-to-there dept
I always used to think it was funny when people would give distances in time: "How far is it to the beach?" "Oh, about ten minutes." Now, some researchers have taken that idea and are trying to create maps that tell the "time" for certain distances. It works like a normal mapping/direction program, but it also asks you to type in how fast you can walk, and it tells you how long it should take. The researchers think it could be especially useful for tourists.
