High School Confidential, Online
from the the-bathroom-wall-moves-online dept
The NY Times is noticing the recent trend (with some highly publicized stories) about how students are moving online to post gossip - often anonymously, and in a fairly nasty fashion (it is high school, after all). Parents and school administrators are struggling with how to deal with these sites. Some think that these sites should be taken down completely - or, at least involve moderators and/or ban anonymous posting. Others, though, say that the forums give kids a chance to express their thoughts on some subjects that they might otherwise be afraid to speak up about.
