Webby Awards Ceremony Canceled
from the one-up,-one-down dept
Just as this year's "Bloggie" awards went from online to offline presentation, this year's Webby Awards are going in the other direction. Citing the increasingly global nature of the awards, combined with a decrease in willingness to travel, due to war, terrorism and SARS, the ceremony for the Webby Awards has been cancelled. While I'm sure many folks either don't care very much or are glad to see such "self-back-patting" go away, I will miss the always unique, five-word limit acceptance speeches.
