The Revolution Will Be Photographed

Salon's latest article looks at the rapidly growing phenomenon of the fotolog, where amateur photographers post new pictures (and explanations) all the time. If you haven't come across the concept before, it's basically a blog for photographic images (and captions) - and it's really catching on. People are carrying around digital cameras with them all the time, just to find the right pictures to add to their daily fotolog entries. Combined with typical blog-style comments and feedback, and a fairly large community of people have adopted the whole fotologging concept with a vengeance. While big companies have tried to put photo albums online, fotolog is a different concept. It's not for a bunch of "snapshots" of an event - but it's more about having a visual record of certain aspects of an individual's life.
