As Expected, News Corp. To Buy DirecTV
from the no-surprise-there dept
As other suiters fell aside one by one, Rupert Murdoch could finally - after years and years of flirtation - realize his destiny and plunk down $6.6 billion to buy DirecTV, and make his satellite empire a bit more "worldwide". The question now, is what will he do with it. DirecTV has been stagnating for three years as it went through merger dance after merger dance. It will be interesting to see if Murdoch can get it back on track.
