Many Online Pharmacies Unsafe

from the be-careful-who-you-order-from dept

As filling prescriptions online becomes more popular, it appears that many online pharmacies aren't very safe or secure. Many of them don't follow regulations, such as posting a physical address and phone number. Plenty of them don't do secure transactions or have appropriate privacy policies in place. Nearly a third don't even require you to provide them with a prescription to fill your order. Of course, I wonder how it was determined which "online pharmacies" were included in the study. Clearly, it sounds like some of these are scams. However, the real question is how can you determine the legitimate online pharmacies from the scams?

I would worry that these kind of pharmacies could sell you substandard medicines made in developing countries, with more harmful ingredients. Many pills look alike.
