Disney Preps Wireless Video Service
from the anything-you-can-do,-I-can-do-better.. dept
Just a month after we find out that AOL is preparing their own TiVo killer comes the news that Disney is working on their own TiVo competitor. It sounds more like a typical "movies on demand" offering than a real TiVo, sending extra info (such as a movie) over the air, to be stored in your set top box for later playback (with TiVo-like control). To be honest, it doesn't sound particularly compelling. In fact, for anyone who has a TiVo type device, it sounds useless. But, for anyone without a TiVo, it sounds pretty limited.
