Armed For Success

With all the stories about how difficult it is to raise venture capital these days, you don't expect to hear the story of an inexperienced science-fiction writing CEO who has raised a few million dollars for his startup that creates a device that accurately measures every calorie you burn. Apparently, the trick was just to annoy the hell out of every VC he met, until they wore down and just gave him the money. I'm sure any VC reading the story will cringe, as they anticipate a new crop of wannabe-entrepreneurs taking on the same tactic. Of course, in this case, the guy had a serious product, with some big time supporters, so it's not as though he came entirely out of the blue.
