GSA Might Charge For .gov Domain
from the keep-out-the-riffraff-agencies dept
Well, you know the government is hard up for some cash when they're even considering charging themselves for certain things. The latest is a random plan to charge government agencies to register a .gov domain. There's no real reason to do this other than to transfer some government cash over to the GSA. Of course, adding such a fee would probably have helped prevent some random (non-government) person from registering his own .gov site a few months back.
