While the article focuses on Wales, I imagine it applies to just about any highly connected democratic society. While politicians have traditionally focused on television advertising, most of the younger generation ignore it. This doesn't mean they're not politically aware - but that they are more used to interacting online. They want to see websites and blogs with political information instead of boring paid political advertisements on TV.
