Switching On The Wired Generation?

from the going-to-meet-the-masses dept

The BBC is talking about how politicians in Wales need to go online to get the younger “wired generation” interested in political issues – and to convince them to vote. While the article focuses on Wales, I imagine it applies to just about any highly connected democratic society. While politicians have traditionally focused on television advertising, most of the younger generation ignore it. This doesn’t mean they’re not politically aware – but that they are more used to interacting online. They want to see websites and blogs with political information instead of boring paid political advertisements on TV.
