Xbox Live Communication Isn't All Its Cracked Up To Be

from the degenerating-into-voice-trolls dept

Xbox Live has been getting great reviews all around, as people say that playing games online against real opponents is a lot more fun than going up against the computer. However, this Reuters reporter tested it out with the voice communication part enabled, and found that almost everyone he dealt with was completely obnoxious. Certainly not the ringing endorsement Microsoft was probably hoping for. There are now sites that will rate online players, where you can input metadata about which players are nice and which are annoying. Of course, as with any open online feedback system, it's open to its own abuse.

  • I've found people helpful and fun

I actually have been pleasantly surprised by how nice, and even helpful people have been on XBox Live. I do hate the voice masking feature... but otherwise I have found 4 out 5 people to be fun to play with.
