Amazon Chief Survives Helicopter Crash In Texas
from the big-news-that-wasn't dept
theodp writes "The WSJ reports that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos narrowly escaped calamity last week as a helicopter he was a passenger in crashed in west Texas. According to a preliminary FAA report, a pilot and three passengers were taking off from a remote site in mountainous terrain last Thursday when the helicopter's tailboom struck a tree, causing the aircraft to roll onto its side, partially submerging it in a creek. The passengers, who received “non-life-threatening injuries” and were transported to a hospital, were reportedly evaluating “real estate from the air for land purchase.” Amazon declined to confirm Bezos's involvement in the crash, but a local Sheriff confirmed Bezos was among the passengers." Of course, this would have been big news if something had happened to Bezos, but as it is, it's not really much of a story.
