National Do-Not-Call List Law Is Signed
from the kicking-those-telemarketers-out-of-jobs dept
Following a variety of battles in Congress and a lawsuit from telemarketers, President Bush has now signed into law the creation of a national do-not-call list. I'm sure the battle from telemarketers is not yet over, as they'll do everything they can to fight this. Once again, I'd point out (what seems to be) the obvious that this bill should help telemarketers in making sure they aren't calling people who clearly have no interest in buying whatever it is that they're selling. Of course, as expected, among those "exempted" from following the do-not-call list are politicians themselves.
