Merrill Bans Staff From Viewing CNBC

It wasn't so long ago that people in almost any job figured out some way to watch CNBC all day. Those were the days when everybody probably spent more time day trading than working. Now, however, CNBC is more limited to those who enjoy watching train wrecks and investment bankers. They're even starting to lose the investment bankers. Merrill Lynch has apparently decided to ban its employees from watching CNBC on their desktops at work. Instead, they're switching to rival Bloomberg TV. While Merrill claims that this is in response to what its employees want, others are claiming its a reaction to recent negative coverage of Merrill by some CNBC commentators.
