Monster.com Warns Of Identity Theft Scam

from the can't-do-anything-online-these-days dept

And so the scams continue. Monster.com is warning its users of a new identity theft scam involving their site. Fake jobs are posted, and then the posters try to get specific information from job seekers, which they use for stealing their identity. We had raised this exact issue back in November, but it must be happening quite a bit for Monster to warn everyone about it. I still wonder why people would give out so much personal information so early in the job-finding process.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for puting out the word of the identity theft scam. I received one of the "fake" job proposals and wanted to check it out. Ask.com helped me find the answer I needed to not fall prey to these creeps.

    Sincerely,
    Denise M. Reno
