Duffman writes "A couple of men in Red Deer, a town of 50,000 in northern Alberta, are now considered security risks for promoting (and performing) the mapping of wireless networks in town during the first war driving day last summer, according to a report recently obtained from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. As one of the two said, war driving is like bird-watching, while tapping into a network is more analogous to duck hunting - it's not their fault that the networks aren't secure. Will misconceptions like this grow as wireless networks become more common? " At least they weren't arrested like some others, but it's still ridiculous that people can't figure out why pointing out a security hole is a good thing.
