The Internet's Collapse And Other Rumors
from the I-think-I'll-go-for-a-walk... dept
A good opinion piece taking journalists to task for overhyping the effects of the Slammer worm from last weekend. There were all sorts of news articles suggesting that the worm was making the internet "collapse" or was "crippling" the internet, when really it just slowed things down on a few machines for a little while. Sure, it was a pain, but the internet as a whole kept right on chugging along.
