Electronic Arts Begins Its Hollywood Assault
from the moving-in dept
Two months ago we had an article asking if EA was trying to be the next Disney where we mentioned that they don't look at themselves as a video game company, but as an "entertainment company", and they already have a design studio twice as large as Disney's animation studio. So, it shouldn't be much of a surprise to hear that EA is making a big push into Hollywood. They're setting up shop, hiring new people, and trying to get as many movie tie-in deals as possible. The more established they get in Hollywood, the more I would expect them to go beyond the realm of "just videogames", into actual movie production.
