The Internet Is As Important As Newspapers And Books

A new study looking at just how important people find the internet as an information medium shows that people now believe it's on par with newspapers and books, but more important than television, radio and magazines. At the same time, though, people are becoming more skeptical of the information they find online. Some random other facts from the study show that people are spending more time online (which also cuts into their TV time). Also, 30% of Americans still don't have internet access, though, many say that should change within a year. I don't think any of these findings should be all that surprising. The interent is clearly playing a bigger part in our everyday lives, but at the same time it's losing its "shiny new" quality that made people believe all sorts of junk that they wouldn't have otherwise.

I don't know how "important"
the internet is, but it is certainly more accessible.
I don't really trust anything on the net though. I've watched with fascination as the wording/slant of articles changes over the hours on supposedly reputable sites.
Hard copy is not as easily influenced by whoever is pulling strings.
