Firms Too Busy To Help Police With Virus Investigation

from the leave-us-alone dept

For years, law enforcement has always said that companies are reluctant to help them with investigations into computer security and virus cases, because they don't want to admit that they've been hurt in anyway - since it could look bad with their investors and/or customers. Now, however, Scotland Yard is complaining about another reason why companies aren't helping them with their case against a virus creator: they don't have the time. Even companies that were hurt by the virus spent enough time fixing things, that they don't want to waste any more time helping the police. All the companies want to do is get back to work. In fact, many firms completely destroy the "evidence". This makes perfect sense. The companies need to get back to work, and they need to get any malicious code off of their machines.
