EFF Blasts DMCA's Unintended Consequences
from the good-for-them dept
EFF has now released a report aboslutely trashing the DMCA's unintended consequences over the past four years. The report describes three main problems with the DMCA saying that it has chilled free expression and scientific research, jeopardized fair use rights, and impeded competition. The entire report is available on the EFF website for Unintended Consequences. It includes numerous examples (most of which have been discussed here in the past) of how the DMCA has been repeatedly misused in dangerous ways. Hopefully, the continuing backlash against the DMCA will convince people in DC that it needs to be fixed.
