Yet Another Bad DMCA Lawsuit

from the on-and-on-and-on dept

Declan McCullough is getting good at digging up all these awful DMCA related lawsuits. The latest has been filed by Lexmark against a company that makes technology for others to build Lexmark compatible ink cartridges. Lexmark (and all the other printer manufacturers) can't stand third-party ink cartridge sellers, because their business is based on selling expensive, high margin ink cartridges. So, now they're claiming that this other company is "circumventing" their "technology measures" which is a violation of the DMCA. Yet another example of a company trying to use the DMCA to preserve their bad business model.
