Clay Feet Under AOL/Time Warner Merger?
from the what-happened? dept
A new documentary aims to take a deeper look at what happened to cause the merger of AOL and Time Warner, which they now call a "heist" on the part of AOL. The show quotes a number of tech and media luminaries who all (with the amazing benefit of hindsight) talk about what a bad deal it was. Of course, I'm probably in the minority here when I say that I still think it was a good deal that made sense. What hasn't made sense is the actual execution on the deal. There hasn't been a comprehensive vision to really build a single company. Instead, they're acting like a conglomerate with separate visions - sometimes even competing against themselves.
