Web Site Links Navy War Officers
from the hey,-look,-the-internet-is-useful dept
Here's a random AP article about how the Navy has discovered (gasp!) how the internet can build a useful community. It seems that Naval officers are using an online Navy portal (most of which is blocked from the public view, of course) to have discussion groups about all different topics. About a third of the officers who have access to it are regular users. With all the negative talk about how the internet was overhyped, it's always nice to see a story about a group actually using it to build a real, useful community.
