IDC Spreads Cyberfear
from the based-on...? dept
IDC has put out their predictions for 2003 and they seem a bit silly. The biggest one is that there will be some sort of "crippling" cyberterrorist attack sometime during the year. They base this on nothing in particular, but I'm sure it'll make them look good if it does happen. You would think that a firm that bases its reputation on predictions would have a bit more basis for making them. They predict that IT spending will pick up, but they predicted that last year, too, so they don't have the greatest track record.
