Spam Is A Bigger Problem Than Viruses

from the that-makes-sense dept

At the Infosecurity conference going on right now, it seems that most IT folks are much more concerned with spam than viruses. Viruses only come through once in a while, and do little damage other than clogging up the network. Spam is constant, and also clogs up the network. It would seem that there's pretty strong demand for anti-spam solutions in the enterprise space. Of course, I still wonder about how some of these anti-spam systems are implemented. I recently could not reach a business partner because his company's anti-spam system rejected my email due to "language that is likely to be spam". I reread the email at least twenty times looking for the problematic language, but could never find it.
