eBay Parties Bid On Loyalty
from the Amway,-Tupperware...-eBay dept
It seems that some eBay enthusiasts are taking a page from Amway and Tupperware and are now hosting eBay parties to get people interested in using the auction site. I have to wonder, though, how big these parties really are, and how much of this article was influenced by PR people at eBay who decided to make it sound like a big phenomenon. Unlike Tupperware and Amway, whoever holds these parties is much less likely to see the benefits. In those cases, the host was hoping that people would end up buying stuff (or, even better, a "distributorship") from them. In the case of eBay, are the hosts suddenly hoping that everyone they teach will now buy the old CDs they're trying to get rid of?
