Toyota, Honda Deliver Hydrogen Cars

from the zero-emissions dept

While American car makers continue to cut back on their efforts to build low or zero emissions car, Honda and Toyota today announced that they've delivered the first market-ready, zero emission, hydrogen fuel cell-powered cars. Toyota delivered two to the University of California while Honda delivered five to the city of Los Angeles (think the timing was a coincidence?). The Toyotas are actually SUVs, which is even more amusing as most SUVs are famous for how bad they are for emissions. It seems that the Hondas are a much better deal, though, as they're only costing the city of LA $500/month while the Toyotas are going for a pricey $10,000/month.
