Digital Image Stored In A Single Molecule

dsg wrote in with a link to a news item about some researchers who have figured out how to store information in the atoms of a single molecule. A single liquid crystal molecule can apparently store 1024 bits of information, enough for a digital image. This is, of course, very much at the experimental stage of things, so you probably shouldn't expect molecular-level storage to be coming out commercially anytime soon.
