Tech, Counterfeiting & Terrorism
from the bring-on-the-FUD dept
mw writes "Rapid advances in scanning, printing and other technologies have made counterfeiting a new primary tool for terrorists. According to a new Business 2.0 story, American companies such as Xerox and Hewlett-Packard, have launched products that are helping terrorists in their forging initiatives. And now, highly-effective forgeries can be created by anyone with a $1000 scanner, computer and printer setup." I get a little annoyed when I read these articles that look to blame technology for making "bad" things easier, and this one moves in that direction at times.
