Throttling Down Computer Viruses
from the sounds-smart dept
The latest research being done on ways to stop computer viruses from spreading seems to have found a smart way to slow down viral infections. The researchers noticed that an infected computer tries to connect to as many new computers as possible. By slowing down the speed with which a computer can connect to another computer viruses can't spread nearly as fast - and those responsible can be alerted before too much damage is done. Of course, as with any anti-virus technique, I'm sure the virus writers will figure out a way around this precaution as quickly as possible.
