Why PC Makers Are Saying Next Year

As has been discussed countless times before, the computer upgrade cycle is slowing down. While people used to upgrade their computers every three years or so, that's being stretched longer and longer. Some suggest that, eventually, it'll reach a standard cycle time of approximately 8 years. In the meantime, computer makers are looking to come up with new reasons why users should upgrade - and while it's convincing some people, it's unlikely to lead to real computer sales boom.
