E-Marketers Rue Address Turnover
from the that's-what-people-are-trying-to-get-away-from... dept
It seems that plenty of people change their email addresses often to stay one step ahead of the spam onslaught. This is, understandably, upsetting to email marketers who say such switchers are costing them money. It seems (surprise surprise), that while people tell their friends about their new email address, they tend not to tell folks who send them advertisements. What these complaining e-marketers don't seem to understand is that half the reason these people are switching email addresses is because they're sick of even these "legitimate" email marketing messages - and lump them in with the spammers. If the emails were actually targeted and valuable, then people would have no problem signing up again at their new address.
