Is Mitch Kapor Going After Microsoft Or Not?
from the the-press-sure-thinks-he-is dept
Mitch Kapor is insisting that (really, really) he isn't trying to take on Microsoft with his Chandler software, but no one seems to believe him. Almost every news article about the project has mentioned something along the lines of "Microsoft Outlook Killer". Despite his explanations for why he's not taking on Microsoft, the stories persist. The latest is Charles Cooper's latest piece at News.com where he goes on a long explanation as to why IT managers will never switch from Outlook/Exchange and why Chandler will fail. Kapor's point is that they're not trying to unseat Microsoft. They just want to offer another useful program that people can use if they decide to. Apparently, that's too difficult for the press to fathom.
