Loyal Site Visitors Don't Mind Ads
from the depends-on-the-ads dept
I can see this study being stretched into a "what's good for GM, is good for the country" style argument, but a recent study says that loyal website visitors don't mind ads. Or, at least that's what the headline claims. The details are a little less clear. All the study seems to really show is that people who go to some fairly well known sites, think that their advertisers are "high quality". All that really means is that they don't think the NY Times will sell ads to a shady company - and not that they don't mind the ads. Also, the study doesn't seem to take into account the types of ads presented. Were these just banner ads? Pop ups? Interstitials? I still think that most people are quite frustrated with intrusive advertising. This is just an attempt to justify those ads whenever consumers complain.

Re: thats what we call
The problem is that these people are so cut off with reality when searching for the almighty dollar that they don't care if they are pissing millions to get the dozens that buy. Or even better, they figure they are getting their "name brands" out there...And think about it, the general public as sheep DO act that way...when they look for a cheap PC Cam...they think X10...they don't look around and they'll buy even if the popups pissed them off before.
