A Boon For Nonprofits With Software Needs

There have been a bunch of articles in the past couple years about how non-profits have suffered during the downturn as companies are less willing to donate. However, there are some advantages as well. The NY Times has an article about DiscounTech, a company designed to help non-profits get cheap software. They basically act as a middleman with the various software providers to get discounted versions of the software for non-profit organizations. The software companies are willing to donate products to get them into more widespread use. At the same time, the number of folks desperate for jobs has made it easier for non-profits to recruit technically savvy people to help out.
