Is Microsoft Mortal?

from the looking-at-the-landscape dept

News.com is running a series of articles about whether or not Microsoft is "mortal", which points out all the strategic and competitive risks they are suddenly facing. The first piece came out today and is (not surprisingly) talking about Microsoft's sudden admission that open source software really is a threat. It discusses how they were dragged kicking and screaming to this position - but also how much of it is Microsoft's own fault, due to their new licensing plan that makes things much more expensive for customers.
