DMCA Anti-Circumvention Portion To Get Reviewed

Who knows if anything will come of this, but the United States Copyright Office is asking for public comments on what sorts of activities should be legalized in spite of the DMCA clause concerning circumvention of copy protection technologies. This is, of course, the clause that made it illegal to link to the DeCSS program that was written so people could watch DVDs on Linux boxes, and it's why Dmitry Sklyarov was arrested. I imagine a lot of folks in the technology world will want to add their thoughts. Details on how to comment are available here and the EFF also says they'll collect comments and submit them.
