Grandstanding On Terrorism And Technology
from the not-needed dept
Here's an opinion piece that makes some good points about how politicians right now are "grandstanding" on the issue of cyberterrorism and using that fear as a way to pass pet legislation that is mostly useless. I agree that this appears to be what is happening (though, let's face it, most politicians will use just about anything as an excuse to introduce pet legislation). However, there are some problems with the article. It seems to accept, without question, the risk of a cyberattack and even quotes as fact the statement that 100 countries are preparing for cyberwar, despite the fact that people are seriously questioning that number.
