Riding Along With The Internet Bookmobile

from the join-the-trip dept

One of the folks riding along with Brewster Kahle's bookmobile trip across the country has written up a travelogue, of sorts for Salon. He uses it to mostly make the points that the bookmobile is trying to make on its journey across the country to the Supreme Court for the Eldred vs. Ashcroft case. The idea is that, with the various extensions, current copyright law is actually holding back knowledge from the people. The internet opens up a wonderful way to get plenty of information to people who need it most, but copyright law is cutting off that channel and making sure that just about nothing is in the public domain any more.
