The Homeless Blogger

from the everyone's-got-a-story dept

USA Today is running a story about a homeless blogger, who apparently has gotten quite a lot of attention for his site. He uses libraries and other free internet access places to write his posts. I just went to the site itself and it's blank, so I can't really comment on it. However, people say he's quite a good writer, and they're surprised someone with such skills has remained homeless for so long. Others think that he doesn't do enough to explain to others how to avoid the situation he got into.

I'm usually fairly compassionate towards the homeless but this guy's logic is pretty pathetic. He seems a bit too competent to be the new spokeperson for homelessness. I think I'll save my donations for the dirty, sun-burned, unshaven guy by the side of the road mumbling to himself.
I love this quote: "I've never been able to fit into 'normal.' And I've never been able to fit into our society, which I doubt is anywhere near normal, either."
OF COURSE YOU DON'T FIT INTO NORMAL! THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE A HOMELESS GUY WITH A WEBSITE!!!!
