DataPlay Don't Play No More
from the and-so-it-goes dept
David writes "It seems that DataPlay is no longer the darling of the music biz. The company had developed a small media storage format, touted by investors (Intel, Kodak, Universal) to be the next big, little thing. DataPlay discs followed copy-protection rules, so Hollywood was all ears to the plan, but it appears this interest has waned. Employees are being sent home, and not one of the previous investors is looking to step up for more. Entertertainment... such a fickle business it is. Honestly, this one was a dud from the beginning."
