Gillmor Responds To Valenti
from the sounds-nice,-but-it's-all-lies dept
Last week, Dan Gillmor interviewed Jack Valenti to give Hollywood's side of the story on the Hollywood vs. Silicon Valley (vs. consumers) battle. Gillmor presented Valenti's side without comment. Today however, he's taken the time to explain why he thinks Valenti is wrong. He basically points out that Valenti says one thing, but acts differently. Valenti says he wants compromise, but only proposes extreme solutions. He twists things to his point of view and doesn't seem to admit that there's any possibility of a different viewpoint. I still think Gillmor could have been harder on Valenti, and could have asked some really pointed questions. Everyone says that Valenti is a nice guy and a wonderful speaker - and somehow he always gets off the hook from having to answer the difficult questions.
